Doctor Vodex is a scientist who escaped his home world in order to explore the vastness of space (see Avian). Like most of his kind he is nervous by nature, preferring long isolated hours in the 2XL+ Lab to almost everything else. Vodex is a graduate of the SSA Tech Corps and trained as a Class 9 Troubleshooter, but it was his skill as a laboratory technician that earned his position as Chief Science Officer aboard the 2XL+. His achievements in the Lab have also provided Vodex with a welcome buffer from action, conflict, the command structure, and other avenues of service inappropriate for his level of timidity and angst.
